Our Guest Environment Experts are skilled in a wide range of housekeeping functions with responsibility for maintaining the appearance and cleanliness of the whole hotel. They are empowered to move about their space and do what needs to be done. Whether delivering guest requests, stocking carts, cleaning rooms and public spaces, or other similar responsibilities, the Guest Environment Expert makes sure the spaces in the hotel help create a great guest experience.
Responsibilities:
- Vacuuming floors and shampooing carpets or deep cleaning floors using a steam cleaner

- Cleaning and sterilizing bathrooms including removing hair from drains, cleaning toilets, and scrubbing tubs and showers
- Cleaning common areas such as hallways, stairwells, lobbies, and reception areas
Requirements:
- Hotel cleaners typically need only a high school diploma or GED.
- Some employers may prefer candidates who have completed a cleaning certificate program.
- These programs teach students how to clean and disinfect a variety of surfaces and equipment, including bathrooms, kitchens and laundry rooms.
- Hotel cleaners typically receive on-the-job training from their supervisors or other hotel staff members.
- This training may include how to use cleaning equipment, how to properly dispose of waste and how to properly clean different areas of the hotel.
- Hotel cleaners may also receive training on how to properly clean different types of surfaces.
- Certifications are not usually required to become a cleaner, but they can show your commitment to the industry and help you stand out from other candidates.
